Formerly a small blip on the radar screen nestled outside the Brentwood and Franklin city limits, Nolensville has become one of the fastest growing cities in Tennessee.
Nolensville was founded in 1797, and residents originally had the town incorporated by 1838. But as the town grew out of its boundaries, it lost its status. Nolensville only had 1,800 residents when it was reincorporated, according to its incorporation documents. In 2010, around 5,861 residents lived in Nolensville, according to U.S. Census Bureau data. That number has nearly doubled in 2018 to around 11,000 residents, according to a special census conducted by the City of Nolensville.
The community recently constructed a new town hall, and several business plazas and new restaurants continue to locate here. The town has also established a good trail system. Nolensville High School just recently opened in 2017 to serve the city of Nolensville. The town regularly holds festivals and events, including The Historic Buttercup Festival held in each April.
